If you're using Windows 10 and the April 2018 (version 1803) update is already up, you can increase your computer's performance by enabling Ultimate Performance Mode. But be careful: this power-optimization mode turns off all power-saving features and increases power consumption. It is only recommended for computers that are permanently connected to the mains, but not for battery-powered devices.
Officially, the Ultimate Performance Mode can only be activated in the hardly distributed Windows 10 Workstation Edition. We explain how it can be used in any other Windows version:
Type cmd in the search window and start the search. Among the search results, cmd.exe is listed as a search result. Right-click cmd.exe and run cmd.exe as administrator. Then enter the following command in the input window and click execute:
powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
Then open the control panel and go to the power options. Now you can run Ultimate Performance as a power scheme.
