If you're using Windows 10, there's no avoiding the Windows Creators Update – also known as Redstone 3. The update will be carried out starting from 17 October 2017 via the automatic Windows updates. This update will take longer than usual. Because your operating system will be completely reinstalled.
That means more can go wrong than usual. Please note:
You need at least 20 GB of free space on your system drive. More is better. Delete unnecessary data if necessary. In any case, you should run the disk cleanup now.
Check if you have any unnecessary software installed. Everything you don't need will cost you a lot of time during the Creators Update and increase the probability of errors.
Then you should back up your data. Better safe than sorry.
If the Creators Update hasn't been completed on your computer after 20 October, you should start the installation manually using the Windows 10 Update Assistant. Please click HERE to download it. If you're still unable to install the update using the assistant, then uninstall your antivirus software and reinstall it immediately after the update.
