Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0 For Free

Published : 2017-06-06 22:00:10

Adobe are phasing out the product activation for some of their older software – it’s been disabled both for Photoshop CS2 and now also for Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0. The idea is to allow anyone who purchased the software during the Windows XP era to continue using it without any trouble. The download is still active and available in our online shop’s download area at the top on the right. Adobe has published the following installation codes:

Windows: 1118-1414-1955-8737-8172-0350

Apple Mac: 1118-0416-1130-3724-2927-7040

In theory, this means that anyone can download and use Acrobat Pro 8.0 for free. In practice, users are faced with two minor obstacles when installing it on a Windows system running a current OS version.

First obstacle: You have to right-click on the downloaded .exe file and run it as an administrator. Otherwise the extraction will be aborted with an error message.

Second obstacle: Shortly after you start the installation, this error message will be displayed: “The file AdobePDF.dll on Windows Vista CD-ROM is needed.” Please click on ‘Browse’, go to the parent directory and switch to the AMD64 directory there, double-click on the file AdobePDF.dll and continue the installation. See here.

The installation should run smoothly from here on out. It’s safe to ignore any further error messages.

You can use Acrobat Pro 8.0 to create professional PDF files. As this version has hardly any disadvantages compared with the – very expensive – new versions of Acrobat, it’s probably just a matter of time until Adobe deactivates the download. Therefore, we would recommend you download the original software as quickly as possible.

In July, we’ll be covering installation options for Mac and potential updates.
