Over time, more and more software accumulates on your Windows device - from browsers to programs that run in the background and that you don't even notice to the printer terminal. These programs gradually become outdated and can become problematic for security reasons.
Windows 10 and Windows 11 offer you the option of automatically updating all your application software to the latest version. Your device must be connected to the Internet for this.
Please do the following:
In the search box at the bottom of your screen, type
cmd
and then press the Enter key. This will open the view shown in the image above, in which you should click on “Run as administrator”.
The command line will then open. Here you enter
winget list
and press the Enter key. You may then be asked to confirm your entry with a
J
for “Yes” (+ press the enter key) to confirm your entry. However, this request may not be made.
Then enter
winget upgrade -all
in the command line and press Enter.
Now sit back and watch in peace as Windows updates one piece of software after another. This may take an hour or longer. Please do not close the window until all updates have been completed!
