Office 2024 Home & Business has been released

The new version 2024 of Microsoft Office is now available. The download links for the Home & Business and Professional Plus packages have recently been published at software-downloads.net. A licence key for the permanent use of Office 2024 Home & Business (no subscription) costs 299 euros at Microsoft and 199.90 euros at our site.

The official new features advertised by Microsoft are:

# New standard design: Office 2024 doesn't look completely different, but Microsoft has spruced up the design with Fluent elements.

# Accessibility: New functions to make documents, slideshows, workbooks and emails more accessible.

# Interaction with smartphones: Images can be inserted directly into Office documents via Android phones.

# OpenDocument format: Office 2024 supports the OpenDocument format 1.4.

# Reactions: New comments or replies can be easily recognized via a blue dot and provided with a “Like” reaction.

# Diagrams: In Excel, you can now refer to dynamic arrays in diagrams.

# Text and array functions: There are now a total of 14 new text and array functions in Excel that you can use to edit text and arrays in your worksheets.

# Recovery: Unsaved content in Word files can now be recovered more reliably.

This is all well and good and in line with the usual development progress at Microsoft Office. But the high price is likely to put many users off. For comparison: Office 2019 Professional Plus costs just 39.90 euros for permanent use (no subscription) in the version linked to your Microsoft account. In addition to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook, which are included in Office 2024 Home & Business, the package also includes Publisher and Access database processing. For many users, this is more attractive than paying many times more for Office 2024.
