Make Windows indestructible

In these times of the widespread distribution of malicious software that can endanger Windows, it is advisable to set up a Windows user account that is especially protected. Under this account, changes such as software installation cannot be made to the computer. With this account, you can surf the internet safely and can also open email attachments without risk.

Create a new Windows user and log in and then out using this user’s login details. Afterwards, log back in as Admin. Then click on the Windows symbol and ‘R’, then enter two full stops (‘..’) in the Console. You will be shown a list of user folders. Right-click the user whose account you want to make secure and rename it. Please add a dot and the letters ‘man’ to the end, ie: .man

So if the user folder was previously called ‘Reset’ (for example), then it should now be called ‘Reset.man’.

This user has severely restricted rights, meaning they can work with your computer’s software, but not install anything, and therefore not cause any damage.

Such a user account is also ideal for when you want guests to be able to use your computer.
